I've been doing this awhile, so some older clips shot with iPhone 6 or SE or now with the XR, iphone 13. Older shows are from a San Francisco club that no longer exists called the I-Beam. I-Beam shows were shot with a consumer camera in a video booth there, there was a feed from the soundboard, so it's not from a camera mic.

John Zorn, Elliot Sharp and Ted Epstein ripping it up. I wish Elliot Sharp was higher in the mix, but what can you do. Video by Kevin Kelleher.

Full show, video was shot on consumer camera with feed from soundboard. I had previously posted 2 shorter segments from the same show. Bob, unfortunately didn't like being in the light and there was no follow spot.

I think this was their first show in SF. Cathy Cohen was such a great booker. I think this was the second show we taped (Jack Williamson and myself)

Who are the saxophone players?
59:49 Shelly's Boyfriend
Precious early Chris Isaak live performance footage!! I love his songs, he has a lot of charisma!
Lux and Ivy let us in for sound check... Saw Click Mort, the last of the Fuzz Guitarists!!!!!
Unusually novel melodies and instrumentation, this will make it interesting and special!🎶
Pretty sure I saw them within a few days of this performance at The Berkeley Square.

Loved Stage Managing The Violent Femmes !! ❤ what a night ! Shout out to Cathy Cohn !!
I was at this show. At the age of 70 now it is a crazy dream to remember this. Later that year I saw them at the original Filmore Auditorium? Lux was great and Ivy was so stoic and saucy. Life at it's finest!
🖤
🎶Perfekt !🎸
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much for this.
Glad you enjoyed it
Never heard of this guy. Interesting so far
Filmed on a 1986 video potato camera but the sound is AWESOME and That's all that really matters . Thank you for this classic 80s Cramps live performance !!!! Added to my Cramps live play list .
You're welcome!
Still going strong 40 years later, super rock!
They played in Grenoble, but by that time, word of mouth only. I learned the day after they play. The residents can't get no Satisfaction !
THANK YOU!!! This is such a rare gem. The SOUND QUALITY and the CLARITY of each player's contributions to the overall arrangement/performance is quite AMAZING considering the limitations on yourself and/or others who captured this SMOKIN performance from the absolute creative and cohesive PRIME of OPAL'S outstanding HAPPY NIGHTMARE BABY LP-era lineup. It is a complete gift to have ANY live film of OPAL live but, to have such a KILLER capture (sound wise, it would be tough to top this during this time period!) is fucking outstanding. This audio could be given a little love in a studio and lightly dusted off and be 100% released on high quality vinyl as a LIVE EP. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it so much! It’s just one of those nights when everything worked
Thanks for posting this. Rank and File remains heavily on my playlist 40+ years later. Great band and sad to know Tony Kinman is no longer among us.
Very nice. Thanks!
Supreme High scale 🎼 🎼 Performance
Ohhhh my god, pray for me please...,❤❤❤
Sha-Sha Sha-sha-sha indeed! what a great performance, highly underrated band.
Thank you soooo much for sharing! For those of us who were either a tad too young, or lived too far from SF, or both, being able to see this is gold. It's so cool to be able to compare his performances from back in his early days to how they evolved over the years.
You are so welcome!
Valley girl
I was there.
Violent Femmes are still an unmatched talent with an absolutely unique flavor. It was so friggin awesome growing up with these guys as my soundtrack. Thanks from the bottom of my heart❤
A piece of Music History here, thanks a lot for share, I always wanted to see a show with the originals Silvertone and I was very young at the time, I always felt like it wasn't the same without J.W., a big fan of Jimmy Wilsey's sound, R.I.P.
When i die i want my next life to be as Ivys favorite guitar.
I was late to the party, but heard them in '86. Angered my parents in 87
I think I was at this show and if I wasn't, why not?
I think you were too, but as you said, if not why not
@@1elare Might have been living on LI right then, come to think of it.
I wouldn't be exaggerating to say one reason I'm taking songwriting classes at Berklee School of Music is because Bonnie Hayes is head of the songwriting department and I've had crush on her since, oh, 1983.
In retrospect, the most punk band to come out of that era.
Poison
Your page kicks ass! Great Snakefinger and early Meat Puppets footage, thanks SO much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks to the uploader for making it possible with the tech of the time... These recordings are so important, truly valued by fans and "musicologist" historians! Wondefully different vibe to this period of Chris Isaak and The Silvertones. I'm glad to have viewed these magical moments, and I apprecitate them all! Great insight to these guys in their younger years... I know that Wicked Game wasn't released until 1987, if that was also on this setlist it would be 110% more magical!
Glad you enjoy it!
Thanks for adding this!
best🎉
Maravilhoso 😅
What a remarkable amazing delirium.
gordon’s guitar solo on To the Kill- even though he hides behind the drums and turns the volume down before the last note plays out, he absolutely nailed it. ⚡️🎸⚡️
my first time hearing Never Tell. What a prog rock masterpiece. prog-punk ⚡️✊🎸⚡️
Thank you for the full show
You're welcome
What a treasure ✨ Fantastic to finally see the band from this era❤
Awesome seeing videos with Candy Del Mar!
He sounds like Lou Reed, especially “Good Feeling” at the end. The Velvet Underground obviously influenced The Violent Femmes!
no violent fems was first.
As an SF native I've seen these guys play alot all over places in the city. I Beam and the Farm my two favorite spots to start with. Great video. Thank you.
Saw them in '85 and just caught their 40th anniversary tour in Cleveland....love em !!!
fuuuuucccckkk
Well now we know where Kirk C got his wardrobe tips from
Man would be cool to go down to a local club and see something like this, damn
It sure was a great local club
